The stories regarding the Larry Bird-led Celtics keep coming. That is most recently made possible thanks to Dan Shaughnessy's new book, "Wish It Lasted Forever: Life With The Larry Bird Celtics".
Shaughnessy joined the Gresh and Keefe Show Wednesday to regale the guys with some of the tales, including why Bird had an odd preference when it came to drinking beer.
"Larry Bird, little known fact, would not drink out of green bottles," the author said. "The whole Molson phase was big then. Everybody was drinking Molson and Heineken and all that. Larry didn’t like the cost of it for one thing Second of all, he told me when he was in college … You had those college parties where you pick up those green bottles, started chugging it and he said, ‘When that third cigarette butt went down, that was the end of green bottles for me.’ He could never look at them after that. You will not see a Heineken or Molson in Larry’s hand."
