The Patriots are bringing back a veteran linebacker for 2022.

According to his agency, Harvey Langi has signed a contract extension with the Patriots. ESPN's Mike Reiss adds it is a one-year deal.

Langi played in seven games during his second stint with the Patriots, but finished the year on injured reserve. In those seven games he had three tackles, but he was mostly a contributor on special teams.

The BYU product returned to New England this season after spending 2019-20 with the Jets.

Langi figures to be a depth piece at linebacker and make his biggest contribution on special teams.
