After 11 NFL seasons, Patrick Chung has called it a career.

The 33-year-old announced his retirement Thursday morning via Instagram.

Chung thanked the entire Patriots organization from Robert Kraft and Bill Belichick all the way down to the meal room workers and janitors. He ended the post by writing, "it's time to start a new life."

He had a really nice career, 10 of which coming in New England. Chung did spend the 2013 season with the Eagles, but returned to the Patriots in a new role, which did wonders for his career.

Chung was one of the toughest players to come through the Patriots locker room in recent years, playing through a number of injuries.
