the greg hill show: Scheim make a bold prediction that might ruffle the feathers of Pats fans
The Patriots are adding onto the back end of their already-stout defense.
According to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo, New England has agreed to terms with safety Jaylinn Hawkins on a one-year deal.
Hawkins, 26, was drafted out of the University of California by the Falcons in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After four-plus seasons in Atlanta, he was cut in mid-October of last year and subsequently claimed by the Los Angeles Chargers.
Through four NFL seasons, the 6-foot-1 defender has tallied 135 tackles, 10 pass deflections, four interceptions, and a defensive touchdown.
Hawkins joins a Patriots safety room of Kyle Dugger, Jabrill Peppers, and Marte Mapu. Free agent safety Jalen Mills, who spent the last three years in New England, signed with the New York Giants last week.
