6 rings: Wednesday stat day: Diving into the numbers following the Patriots 34-0 loss to Saints

After a miniscule switch-up to their normal weekly schedule, the Patriots returned to the practice field as usual on Wednesday as they prepare to take on the Josh McDaniels-led Raiders this weekend in Las Vegas.

On Tuesday, we saw the return of wide receiver Tyquan Thornton as he and the team officially opened his 21-day window to return from the injured reserve. The 2022 second-round pick can now play as soon as this weekend.

Here’s what stood out on Wednesday:

Attendance:

Absent: LB Matthew Judon, WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR Demario Douglas, OL Mike Onwenu
PUP: S Cody Davis, DE Trey Flowers
IR: WR Tyquan Thornton, CB Jack Jones, CB Marcus Jones, DL Daniel Ekuale, CB Christian Gonzalez

Other Notes:

- Guard Mike Onwenu returned to the practice field on Wednesday after not being spotted at Tuesday's session. He left Sunday's game vs. the Saints with an ankle injury.

- Cornerback Jack Jones, who was placed on injured reserve prior to the season with a hamstring injury and was eligible to return to practice last week, has yet to do so.
