the greg hill show: The Pat's season in a stat: Jack Jones has more touchdowns than JuJu Smith-Schuster
The Patriots returned to the practice field on Wednesday afternoon as they gear up for the Bills on Sunday, but not before an audible.
Originally scheduled to practice outside at 1:10 p.m., New England moved their practice indoors to the bubble, switched the start time to 3 p.m., and shorted the session to just an hour and fifteen minutes.
Why?
"Thought it was the best thing to do," head coach Bill Belichick said.
When asked if it was due to the health of the team given the amount of guys banged up, Belichick said that that was "definitely a factor".
So, from an abbreviated Patriots practice, here's what stood out:
Attendance:
Absent:
S Jalen Mills
S Jabrill Peppers
RB Rhamondre Stevenson
OT Trent Brown

Other Notes:
- Prior to their contest in Denver last Sunday night, the Patriots placed OT Conor McDermott on injured reserve, ending his 2023 season. They also signed G James Ferentz to the 53-man roster.
- With Hunter Henry continuing to miss time with a knee injury, New England signed TE La'Michael Pettway to their practice squad. He was present at practice wearing No. 46.
- Jalen Mills, while not a participant in practice, was spotted on the sideline not in uniform.
- With Trent Brown missing from practice, a tweet from ESPN's Mike Reiss highlighting his "different play speed" than his teammates on Sunday night may suggest that some discipline is either on the horizon or has already begun with the left tackle.
