When speaking to reporters at his locker Wednesday, Patriots All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs casually revealed he injured a finger "a couple weeks ago."
Diggs was discussing quarterback Drake Maye's accuracy and touch on throws when he mentioned it.
"I broke my finger, like, a couple weeks ago, so I was just telling [Drake], 'Hey, I love the way you throw the ball.' Just because he has that touch. I mean, I got nothing against you putting a little mustard here or there, to fit it in the hole," Diggs said.
When followed up with further questions about the injury, Diggs downplayed it.
"Don't worry about it," he said, with a smile. "It's the least of my worries."
Indeed, if the finger injury happened a couple weeks ago, Diggs has had confidence-inducing performances since: he posted 105 receiving yards against the New York Jets in Thursday Night Football last week.
