The levels have changed for Blaze Jordan, but the results haven't.
The Red Sox' third-round pick from the 2020 MLB Draft has picked up where he left off after being promoted from the Florida Complex League to Single-A Salem. Jordan's latest bit of punctuation came Sunday when he launched a grand slam in just his third game with his new team.
Jordan went 18 days between playing after his promotion, dealing with "health and safety protocols," according to the organization. For the 2021 season, the the third baseman is hitting a combined .350 with an 1.092 OPS and six homers in 88 plate appearances.
The Red Sox' first-round pick from 2020, Nick Yorke -- who drew an intentional walk to set the stage for Jordan's latest homer -- has been the team's best hitter throughout this season, managing a .323 batting average and .913 OPS with 10 homers in 76 games.
