Are you trying to shed a few pounds, now that you've been stuck at home snaking on anything that comes near you? Yeah, me too! Well, if you're trying to diet and exercise, you might want to think about asking your significant other to do it with you.
According to Science Daily, there's a new study by the European Society of Cardiology found that couples tend to do better if they try to lose weight together. Now their study specifically looked at married people after one of them had a heart attack and needed to lose weight for health reasons. They found that when the person's spouse got involved with eating healthy, they were much more likely to stick with it. Granted, their findings are kind of obvious, but they're still worth sharing!
But check this out, when a person's spouse tried to lose weight with them, they were almost 3X more likely to be successful. Researchers think it's because couples tend to have similar lifestyles already, so practical things come into play, like grocery shopping and what food you buy. Plus, think about it, how hard is it to diet and lose weight when the other person is still snacking on chips and ice cream?
