[BREAKING] Walt Disney World Proposes Reopening Plans

Walt Disney World has presented their reopening plans today.

Walt Disney World theme parks will begin their phased reopenings starting with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom on July 11th, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is planning to join the reopening on July 15th.

The parks menttioned they will not be offering any character meet at greets, firework shows or parades, during the reopening phase. Children's play areas will remain closed during the phased reopening. There's no news on when , and if it will be offered in the near future, but I'm betting on seeing how the parks, and guests do during this time.

In addition, guests must obtain a reservation in advance to attend the park.

Safety protocols include:

  • Required face coverings guest and cast
  • Physical barriers to encourage social distancing including plexiglass at cash registers
  • Enhanced cleaning throughout park including more hand sanitizing stations
  • Temperature checks will be required for guest and cast members
  • Retails and restaurants will be reduced in capacity
  • Contactless payment systems 
  • High-touch areas such as play areas will be closed
