Authorities in Milton, Florida arrested a mother accused of severely abusing her 14-year old adopted son.
Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson says 47-year-old Patricia Hyler was arrested and book last week with aggravated child abuse.
According to Johnson, Hyler made the teen sleep on a dirty concrete floor, bathed him in the yard with a garden hose, beat the teen with a dog chain and chipped his teeth with pliers. He says she also homeschooled the teen so her abuses would not be discovered by school administrators.
Johnson says the teen was one of four adopted children living in the home. He says another child in the home texted someone about the abuse who then alerted authorities.
