Here's why you shouldn't post a photo of your COVID vaccination card

In the age of Social Media, everyone knows something you did doesn't actually become reality until you share it on your page. However, you may want to think twice before you post a photo of your COVID Vaccine card. Even though you probably want to show your friends and family how proud and excited you are to have been vaccinated, it may lead to your identity being stolen.

Scammers have been apparently targeting people who do so because they're easily able to see your full name, birthdate, plus the location where you got vaccinated. That might not seem like much, but this small amount of information can make you an attractive target for someone to steal your identity.

If you've already posted a photo of your vaccination card, or are considering doing so despite this warning, at least check your privacy settings to make sure only your friends/followers will see the post. Unfortunately we need to worry about these kinds of things thanks to the terrible people who steal identities, but we can at least make it a little harder for them. Happy vaccinating!
