Finally! The long awaited Friends reunion is already in the works, according to Lisa Kudrow. In an interview with Rob Lowe on his podcast "Literally! With Rob Lowe," she revealed "I pre-shot something already, so we're definitely doing it because I already shot a little something."
However, the reunion special that will air on HBO Max later this year isn't exactly what some fans may have been hoping for. Kudrow clarified that the reunion is "not a reboot" explaining "It's not like a scripted thing, we're not portraying our characters. It's us getting together, which just doesn't happen a lot and has never happened in front of other people since 2004 when we stopped. I think it'll be great."
The reunion special was originally planned for May, but has been delayed due to the pandemic. I am glad they chose to wait until they could film it properly, rather than just settling for a virtual reunion on a zoom call.
It will mark the first time the entire cast has reunited since 2016. As a massive fan of the original show that aired from 1994 to 2004, I am excited to see the old gang back together. Lisa Kudrow, who, of course, portrayed Phoebe Buffay on the show, will be joined by her pals Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.
