People have said that if you're going to be a true Floridian, you need to have ridden in an airboat. I took that seriously. My only experience with an airboat was seeing Adam Sandler on one in "The Waterboy," so my wife Lauryn and I decided Wild Florida was the best place for our first time!
The experience was amazing. Our tour guide, Todd, made it so much fun. He had all sorts of interesting factoids about the gators, trees, birds, and just the area in general. I was shocked at how smooth of a ride it was. Because the boat rides so high on the water, you can basically drive over anything and not even feel a bump.
Just cruising around with the wind in your face was great, but the highlight was seeing an alligator's nest with a bunch of a little baby gators.

I also learned that Wild Florida is the only place in the world that has successfully been able to breed albino Alligators. They are majestic creatures.
Overall it was such a fun day, with countless things to experience beyond just an airboat ride. Make sure you feed the giraffes if you do make the trip, it was adorable. On to the next adventure!
