(670 The Score) As you're aware, Coronavirus is causing a number of changes thoughout the sports world. Play has been halted until further notice for the
NBA,
NHL and
MLS, with more likely to follow.
As the NBA season skids to a stop, an unlikely replacement has emerged to fill the gap in sports. The 1995 film
Space Jam has surged into the top 10 trending films on Netflix. It looks like basketball fans, at least those in Chicago, are still looking for their fix. Perhaps the jump is also due to the fact more schools are being closed and more employees are working from home to help decrease the spread of
COVID-19. In any case, it's great to see MJ back on the court, even alongside some animated characters.
Fans of the film will no doubt be excited to hear that come next summer the Tune Squad will be back on the court. Filming for
Space Jam 2 began last summer with a release date of July 16, 2021.
