Orlando residents made it very clear they were ready to turn the page on 2021 and welcome the near year. As my wife Lauryn and I sat on the balcony of our 25th floor apartment, we were absolutely in awe of the amount of fireworks that were erupting in the distance. They were relentless, with massive explosions of color all across the Central Florida horizon seemingly going off for a half hour straight. Check out the video I took:
It was breathtaking, and definitely made our decision to stay in for New Years Eve very much worth it. I can't remember the last time that my band Low Standards wasn't playing a show on New Years Eve. While that was always fun for me, Lauryn didn't love the fact that I was stuck on stage all night (I'd at least bring her up for the ol' midnight smooch).
After a busy holiday season of travel, we decided we just wanted to hang out in our apartment with our sweatpants on, watching Family Guy re-runs and having a couple of drinks. We really enjoyed it and so did our bank account. I don't claim to be Chef Boyardee, but I did whip up what I thought was a pretty tasty dinner:

Whether you went out on the town (maybe to see a band), to a house a party, or rung in the New Year in your comfies like us, I hope you had a great night and an amazing year to come!
