A giant great white shark has been pinged by researchers off the gulf coast of Florida.

The marine non-profit organization OCEARCH were the ones to make the discovery. They say that the shark, named Scot, is a 12.3 foot male that tips the scale at a hefty 1,644 pounds.

The last time Scot was pinged was in fall of 2021 just off the coast of Nova Scotia. OCEARCH says that Scot is the 74th shark that has been tagged, sampled and released back into the Atlantic Ocean.
