News of the K-pop star's health was released by the management agency on Monday morning (January 31), who reported that Jimin arrived at the hospital on Sunday after suffering from sudden abdominal pain along with a mild sore throat.
"The surgery was successful and Jimin is currently recuperating after his procedure," Big Hit Music stated in the release, adding that he was making a "speedy recovery" from his COVID-19 infection.
Big Hit ended the statement by saying that the company places the artists health as top priority and they’re doing everything they can to aid Jimin in quick recovery. Assuring they will also “diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities”.
Jimin, whose full name is Park Ji-min, is the fourth member of the band who tested positive for COVID-19. Over the last few months Jin, Suga and RM have also tested positive, experiencing mild symptoms, shortly after the group had returned from a series of live shows in the United States. BTS is currently on an extended break, expected to resume work in the coming months, if all goes according to plan.
