According to independent.ie, a new survey found people who wear their headphones in public go an average of five weeks without having a meaningful conversation with someone new.
47% of headphone wearers said they take them on walks, 29% almost always wear them on public transportation and 15% said they use their headphones every day now. For people under 25, it's 30%.
But it's not just to listen to Mix 105.1 in their ears! Just under 40% even admitted they keep their headphones on in public specifically to avoid talking to other people.
