Mariska Hargitay shares tribute to late 'SVU' co-star Ned Eisenberg: 'What a light'

Actor Ned Eisenberg died after a long battle with two forms of cancer last weekend.

A character actor since the early 1980s, many may be familiar with him from his ten years (1999-2019) playing defense attorney Roger Kressler on “Law & Order: SVU.”

“SVU” co-star Mariska Hargitay posted a loving tribute to Eisenberg on her Instagram soon after he passed.

In simple script over a white background, Hargitay expressed, "My heart is so full of sadness over the loss of our dear, dear Ned Eisenberg. What a light and what a love. And such a first-rate actor, which pales next to him as a first-rate human. We will remember him always with his bright, mischievous smile and his wide-open heart. We love and miss you, sweet Ned."

She also added a smiling shot of the actor.

Eisenberg made a name for himself as a reliably authoritative presence in mostly dramatic roles over the years in films like “Limitless,” “Million Dollar Baby,” “The Exterminator,” and “Last Man Standing.” People reports that he also appeared on hit TV series such as “The Equalizer,” “Miami Vice,” “The Sopranos,” and “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.”

Most recently, he was Detective Hauser on HBO’s hit, “Mare of Easttown,” opposite Kate Winslet.

Along the way, he also co-founded the Naked Angels Theatre Company, in 1987.

His wife Patricia shared a statement with People that said, in part, ​​"Over the course of two years, he bravely fought the cancers in private while continuing to work in show business to ensure that his medical coverage paid for himself and his family."

Eisenberg was 65. He is survived by Patricia and the couple's son, Lino.
