“AIR” certainly isn’t the first time Ben Affleck has directed his old pal Matt Damon.

However, “AIR” is the first time in the pair’s careers in Hollywood they have entered into that relationship.

Following a recent screening of the new movie, which follows Nike signing Michael Jordan in the ‘80s, a Q&A was held where the topic of Damon being coached by Affleck came up, according to IndieWire.

“It’s not the first time I’ve carried him!” Affleck joked.

“It might seem like the first time he’s directed me,” Damon said. “I mean, we did high-school plays where was like, ‘Dude, I think you should do it like this.’”

Damon went on to say Affleck’s been directing him for around four decades.

“AIR” is the first movie from the pair’s new production company Artists Equity.

Along with Damon and Affleck, the film also stars Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Julius Tennon, Jason Bateman, Chris Messina, and Marlon Wayans.

“AIR” hits theaters April 5 and will stream on Amazon Prime after its theatrical run.
