Imagine starting to watch a new tv series and having to wait an entire week before you can see the next new episode. Insane, right? Almost unfathomable. At least it's become that way ever since Netflix changed the game, allowing us to "binge" an entire series without even getting up to go to the bathroom. Or change DVD's. However, that may be changing.
Netflix just announced that two of its new unscripted shows "The Circle" and "Too Hot to Handle," which are coming out over the next couple of months, will only have four episodes released at a time.
Explaining this move, Netflix released a statement saying "We're experimenting with the release format so you have time to dissect and dish on every step of the competition as it unfolds."
It might not be the worst thing, honestly. Nobody ever said "I've been super productive at work today and it's all thanks to staying up til 5am watching Breaking Bad." It's yet to be seen if they'll move toward this format with the rest of their releases, but it's at least something they're considering.
