Thanks to my daughter who just informed me that I have been alive for 15,272 days. As I am sitting on the couch writing this workout blog, I am now reminded WHY I choose to focus on my health… daily. Let’s just be honest, it’s not every day that we WANT to work out. However, if we can commit to being active for at least a half hour a day, it can be life changing.
Some of my favorite workouts include yoga, walking, and dancing.
The benefits of yoga improve your strength, balance, and flexibility. Regular yoga practice can reduce levels of stress. Yoga also helps you to breathe.
Can you believe sometimes we actually forget to take those big inhales? I remember years ago someone told me to breathe. I looked at them like they had 7 heads. “I believe that’s what I do best, thank you”. That was my response but little did I know those deep deep breaths are so vital. In for 7 seconds. Hold for 5. Out for 7. Woosah.
I also enjoy walking. I usually do that with friends. An hour of walking and catching up with friends will change your day… and probably your mood too! Before you know it, the workout is complete and you got an ab workout from laughing so much.
You know what they say, time flies when you’re having fun.

Dance is my favorite workout. It is about 45 minutes of jumping up and down. Sounds exhausting and it is. Oh that calorie burn! I’m not the best dancer and I struggle keeping up with the choreography but if you find a good a Zumba class it is so worth it. I know people who won’t try a Zumba class because they don’t know how to dance.
News Flash: not a lot of us do and no one is there to judge.
If you can’t pick up the dance counts make up your own and dance like no one is watching! Feel free to join me in the wonderland of energy sounds … I’ll be waiting to groove with you in the back of the class!
