The Weeknd has finally dropped, Hurry Up Tomorrow, the third and final long-awaited chapter of his trilogy, that began with After Hours and continued with Dawn FM.

“All I have is my legacy,” Abel Tesfaye (his government name) sings over the opening bars of the trilogy’s final first song “Wake Me Up.” Produced by French electronic pioneers Justice, the track sets the scene for what soon emerges to be the most ambitious project of the three, and dare we say up to date. A feature film-length album, that has in fact inspired an actual feature film of the same name, set to release May 16, 2025. A psychological thriller propped up by The Weeknd’s sprawling score, in which he’ll star in alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.
The 22-track, nearly 90-minute-long album boasts a host of features. From Lana Del Rey who appears on "The Abyss,” to the unlikely pairing of Florence & the Machine and Travis Scott, who pop up on “Reflections Laughing,” and Giorgio Moroder on "Big Sleep."
Also including previously released singles, “São Paulo” featuring Anitta and "Timeless" featuring Playboi Carti. The final guest on the album is Future, who makes a cameo on "Enjoy The Show."
Aside from being the trilogy’s conclusion, Abel has also implied could possibly be a farewell to his alter-ego, The Weeknd. A possibility we sadly believe is most likely true as we reached the last track, which he closed out with an interpolation of “High For This” – the first track from his first mixtape, House of Balloons — bringing his catalog full circle.
Originally scheduled to be released last week, the arrival of Hurry Up Tomorrow was delayed out of respect for the tragedy of the Los Angeles wildfires. Proceeds from the album track “Take Me Back To LA” will be donated to LA Regional Food Bank, who are providing emergency food assistance to those directly impacted by the LA wildfires. Additionally, out of respect for those impacted by the crisis, The Weeknd chose to cancel the planned album release concert at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl and donated 1 million dollars to LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and LA Regional Food Bank.
