The Weeknd wants to get the same paycheck that Kanye was going to get for performing at Coachella, or he's out. This is according to a new report, that also says the festival tried to only pay The Weeknd around $3 million (a fraction of the $8.5 Million Kanye was expected to get) for filling in the slot that Kanye vacated.

It was already announced by Coachella organizers that The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia had been chosen to replace Kanye. However, with the festival less than two weeks away, it is now unclear who will actually be performing.

According to a source, “The Weeknd came in at short notice to take Kanye’s top spot. But Phil Anschutz [who owns the Coachella Festival through AEG Live] wanted to hold on to Kanye’s money and pay The Weeknd far less, just a few million. The festival would pocket the rest.”
