Along with the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift has revealed the lead track, “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone will be the lead single.
“I’ve been such a huge fan of Post because of the writer he is, his musical experimentation and those melodies he creates that just stick in your head forever,” she expressed via the announcement on social media. “I got to witness that magic come to life firsthand when we worked together on Fortnight.”
The song oozes emotion surrounding the impact of a short-lived romance for Swift with her usual next-level lyrics and heart on her sleeve. “All my mornings are Monday stuck in an endless February,” she sings. “I took the miracle move on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life / I love you, it’s ruining my life / I touched you for only a fortnight / I touched you, but I touched you.”
