If you think your world has been turned upside down this year, just be glad you're not this alligator.
While you'd typically think a gator would be the one attacking a bird, a photographer has now captured a great blue heron devouring a juvenile alligator in Florida.
Wildlife photographer Shellie Gilliam witnessed the intense 30-minute feeding frenzy at Lake Apopka.
"YES, A bird can eat an alligator!" she captioned a video on Facebook. "This Savage Great Blue Heron spent a half hour killing and consuming a large juvenile Alligator near Lake Apopka."
In the clip, the heron grabs the gator by the neck, cock its head back a few times to get the baby croc's entire body inside its mouth, and then swallows the prey whole.
The heron then flew with the alligator in its mouth to the location where she was able to photograph and video the entire encounter.
"I had to walk a few hundred yards back to where he landed, whew," she added. "Once in a lifetime experience."
