This is some “savage” 1990s pop culture news.
"Boy Meets World" star, Ben Savage, recently admitted to swelling emotions while filming the last episode of the hit ‘90s sitcom.
Savage, who played the lead role of Corey Matthews, recently opened up in detail to Us Magazine about shooting the last scene with Williams Daniels, who played fan favorite Mr. Feeny, more than two decades ago.
“That was a tough scene for us to film because, in a way, that was someone closing the door on our childhood, and it signified a lot. It was very emotional for all of us. I had spent seven years on the series, I’ve been working on it since I was 11, and so when [Mr. Feeny] said, ‘Class dismissed,’ it signified a lot. I knew as soon as they wrapped that day, a few months later, I was off in college at Stanford, and it really signified the end of your childhood,” Savage, 40, told the outlet.

Savage said that the final moment, which featured several cast members tearing up, wasn't such a stretch for the actors.
“I think those tears that you see from a lot of the cast members were very genuine,” Savage said. “I don’t vividly recall the table read. I don’t remember the table read as much as I completely could stage and layout, exactly in detail, the last night, and how we were all acting and where we were all standing. I remember filming it, of course.”
Savage opened up about how Daniels was an important mentor for Savage, who came of age while filming the show, and the rest of the younger main cast.
“I think he led by example. Bill was a total professional and just an elegant actor and a gentleman. And I think it wasn’t necessarily anything that was served up on a platter, in terms of like kernels of wisdom, but I think he really did lead by example, and he set a wonderful bar for the cast.”
Daniels, still working at 94, has a long history of playing mentors, good and bad, having played the father in the classic film, "The Graduate" (1967), the bossy voice of the KITT car in the ‘80s action series, "Knight Rider," and he won a Tony as John Adams in the 1969 musical, "1776." The high school in "Boy Meets World" was called John Adams High. See what they did there?
In the final moment, Feeny left his longtime students with some sagely advice.
“Believe in yourselves. Dream. Try. Do good,” he told Corey, as well as Corey's wife Topanga (Danielle Fishel), best friend Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong) and brother Eric Matthews (Will Friedle).
“Don’t you mean do well?” Topanga asked.
“No,” he replied. “I mean do good.” Feeny then flicked the lights off.
The cast is all grown up in real life. In early May, Fishel, 40, revealed her second pregnancy to celebrate her 40th birthday.
“F O R T Y! I've never been more excited or hopeful for the next decade of my life,” read the caption to the post, which featured a photo of Fishel beaming with a huge smile while holding her baby bump in a floral dress and white sneakers in front of a backdrop of lush green leaves.
