McDowell’s, the fictional competitor of McDonald’s depicted in the 1988 Eddie Murphy comedy “Coming to America,” is now coming to New Jersey.
The “Home of the Big Mick” will open a pop-up location at the Cherry Hill Mall from April 16 to April 25.
“Come experience the fun of McDowell's! We are more than just our amazing food. We also have fun photo ops, merchandise, and displays!” its website reads.
Menu items include the Big Mick — two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a non-seeded bun, Chicken Chunks, the Meatless Mick, The Louie Anderson — which is a grilled chicken breast sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and pickles, and the Magnum Mick, which features eight all beef patties and is "big enough for two."
Tickets will be required to dine under the “Golden Arcs” and reservations are now open.
The pop-up comes after the highly-anticipated sequel, “Coming 2 America,” premiered on Amazon Prime on March 4.
Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley and John Amos reprised their roles alongside new additions like Wesley Snipes, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan and KiKi Layne.
In “Coming to America,” Murphy's character, Akeem Joffer, the crown prince of the fictional African nation of Zamunda, lands a job at the local fast-food restaurant McDowell’s after traveling to America in search of love.
RADIO.COM had a chance to talk to the cast of the sequel and asked whether McDowell’s would follow McDonald’s lead in the ongoing fast food chicken sandwich wars.

John Amos opined that he thinks his character, the proprietor of the restaurant, would jump into the fray. “There's no doubt that Cleo would be in 100%. If it was making sales. If it means money coming to the cash register Cleo will be there, have no doubts,” he said.
