ST. LOUIS - (KMOX) Waffle the mini horse is expecting and could deliver at any time at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, which is the Humane Society of Missouri's horse and farm animal rescue ranch. They've set up a baby cam video that can be viewed from dusk to dawn by anyone hoping to see her foal take its first adorable, wobbly step
The veterinarian says Waffle could deliver in May or June. Most mares prefer to give birth when no one is around, so it’s important to give Waffle her privacy during this special time.
Longmeadow care givers will be watching from afar and ready to step in if needed. Mares often circle and pace before giving birth, which Waffle is what doing.
Waffle, 10, surrendered to Longmeadow in November 2020, and her mane and tail were covered in burrs along with the other three minis in the group, including her colt, Toast. At the time she arrived at Longmeadow, she was very early in her pregnancy.
