TMZ has reported that a public memorial will be held for DMX on Saturday, April 24th at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center. The late rapper will be honored by friends, family, and loved ones at the iconic venue.

X’s former manager, Steve Rifkind told TMZ that the event's final logistics are still being worked out, particularly in relation to COVID-19 restrictions and capacity limitations.

On Sunday, April 25, the artist’s family will attend a private funeral service at a church in the New York City area.

Recently, Yonkers’ Mayor, Mike Spano offered up the Yonkers Raceway for the service, seeing as DMX grew up in the city. There are still plans for the rapper to be remembered there as well. Mayor Spano told TMZ that there are possible plans to erect a statue of DMX at the raceway or name a street after the legendary MC.

In June of 2019, DMX took the Barclays Center stage by storm during the Masters of Ceremony event, which would subsequently be one of his final large-scale shows.

The Barclays center memorial will mark a little over 2 weeks since X’s passing, which occurred after complications from a drug overdose.

The Hip Hop legend will continue to be memorialized through the ages.
