Currently down under (in Australia) gearing up for the Anita Max Wynn Tour, Drizzy dropped the news with a surprise album trailer for the PND joint effort.
“$OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U FEBRUARY 14,” he captioned the clip soundtracked to a moody PartyNextDoor snippet from the album. The trailer, which begins gliding though a dimly lit hallway, keys in on Drake in a trance-like state, posted up in the corner of a some VIP room, sipping on a drink, next to two chatty women, more concerned with their conversation than being in the same room as Drake.
Side note — Whether it was pre-planned or not, the $ome $exy $ongs 4 U announcement and teaser arrived less than 24 hours after Kendrick Lamar swept at the GRAMMYs, collecting 5 golden gramophones including, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his Drake diss track “Not Like Us.”
Anyways, Drake and PartyNextDoor’s collab history tracks back to at least 2013 when Drake featured on PartyNextDoor’s “Over Here.” The duo have since joined forces on tracks such as “Own It,” “Come and See Me,” “Recognize,” “Members Only,” “Loyal,” “Preach, “Since Way Back” and more.
Both Drake and PND have been taking turns teasing the anticipated joint album, with Drake committed to using “$$$” in the lead up to the project. Following Party's update back in November on IG Live, Drake dropped his final hint before the recent reveal on January 26. “Love to all the 6’ers,” he wrote atop a photo of the CN Tower to his IG Story. “Winter months are the toughest. S*** can be depressing so take care of yourselves and try show love to each other. Be back in a flash. $$$OON.”
