Drew Barrymore has settled confidently into her talk show career, consistently garnering great guests and generating some viral-worthy moments.

But a surprise guest on her show last week made her fall flat on her face – quite literally.
During the “Drew’s News” segment, Barrymore was joined by pal Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider, who co-host of the podcast, “Bitch Sesh: A Real Housewives Breakdown.” As Entertainment Weekly reported, Schneider then started to set up a surprise.
"I wanted to give you something big,” explained Schneider. “So I decided I need to give you, ‘You,’ and by ‘You,’ I mean Penn Badgley.”
And that's when actor Penn Badgley appeared on the remote interview screen, and if we didn’t know Barrymore was a huge fan of Badgley before, we do now.
Badgley, appearing from London, said, “Is this where I say something?” Barrymore looked over at the screen and instantly unlocked her inner fangirl as she screamed and whooped it up at the sight of the “Gossip Girl" star, going so far as to pick up and toss all papers off the desk and finally lean over and flop onto the floor, screaming the whole time.
"We love you," Barrymore screamed. "I can't believe we're talking to you, this is so crazy."
She had help in her hyperventilating – friend Casey Wilson spazzed out right along with Barrymore as she also threw around her papers and dived over her desk.
Schneider didn’t make the dive herself, but jumped up and down and laughed at all the craziness. The crowd roared along the whole time as the two carried on and on.
Badgley laughed, and at first could only muster, “This is genuinely crazy.”
Barrymore and Wilson’s looks of utter shock at the admission was the only thing that halted their hilarious explosion of surprise, temporarily.
“You’re so wonderful…” Barrymore gushed. “I loved you in ‘Gossip Girl,’ I love your movies, I love you in [‘You’], I have celebrated you for many a decade. And you can consider me pom-poms out for many more to come.”
Casey Wilson added, “You’re so much more than a killer.”
While it was a particularly slapstick-y response from Barrymore, it was in line with the kind of unbridled fandom expression that Barrymore’s fans find so refreshing and relatable.
Barrymore and Wilson aren’t the only Badgley devotees. The actor’s intense fan following started with his romantic work on “Gossip Girl,” and has remained through to his latest star turn as a charming yet homicidal stalker in the Netflix series, “You.”
Once Barrymore and Wilson half-composed themselves, even fixing each other’s hair a bit, the gushing continued full-force, referencing ‘You.’
"Why didn’t you put me in a glass box and starve me and leave me from the world," Wilson begged.
“Yeah, I wish you would stand outside my window,” admitted Barrymore, “and care about what I was thinking and feeling!”
"Kill me Penn,” yelled Wilson, “kill me dead!”

Badgley could only shake his head and giggle at the adoration. “I am really honored and humbled. I mean, this is a genuine reaction.”
They were eventually able to get a few interview answers from Badgley before he had to go. Barrymore also announced that Badgley has a new podcast coming called, “Podcrushed.”
