Niall Horan, who sat next to Blake throughout his last season on the show recently appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show alongside Shelton’s wife, Gwen Stefani. The 30-year-old took the opportunity to share what an impact Shelton has had on his life since meeting him through the show.
"I got on very well with Blake," he shared. “I met him the day before we started shooting the blinds [auditions]. We went for a drink the day before. I sat down with him for five minutes and was like, 'This is my guy. I’m sticking with him.'"
Horan continued, "We had such a laugh. What you see with Blake is what you get — on-camera, off-camera. He’s just that guy," Horan shared. "He’s just the nicest guy in the world, loves what he loves and just has a great time doing everything. He’s just the best."
Not only did Horan and Shelton get along — some say the two also look alike which adds to their already close-knit dynamic.
"You could be our son," Stefani laughed as Horan responded, "I'm the weird stepson."
The resemblance grew even more as Horan gave his best impression of Blake saying in his best Country accent, "This is my wife, Gwen Stefani. I would love you to be on my team.”
"I love this guy. I love Blake. I love The Voice,” Stefani said with a grin. “It’s been so much fun."
