“The Hunger Games” movies made Jennifer Lawrence a bonafide superstar, and drastically altered her career.
At last week's BFI London Film Festival Lawrence participated in a discussion hosted by Variety called “Screen Talk,” the actress spoke to moderator Francine Stock about her wildly successful career and how she blew up so quickly after the “Hunger Games” franchise took off.

“I think I lost a sense of control,” the “American Hustle” star said. “Between ‘The Hunger Games’ coming out and winning the Oscar [2012’s ‘Silver Linings Playbook], I became such a commodity that I felt like every decision was a big, big group decision.”
Looking back on those years of her life and career are difficult she said, as she felt there was a “loss of control.”
Speaking on during the panel Lawrence said as she’s 10 years removed from “The Hunger Games” movies she’s been able to get back a sense of self. She said her acting now seems “personal” for “the first time in a long time.”
The “Joy” star's next big role will be in “Causeway” which will premiere in theaters and be available to stream on AppleTV+ Nov. 4.
According to Apple, the Lil Neugebauer drama finds Lawrence playing Lynsey, a military engineer who gets back to the U.S. after suffering a brain injury from an IED explosion while on tour in Afghanistan. The film’s distributor A24 describes the production as “an intimate portrait of a soldier struggling to adjust to her life after returning home to New Orleans”
