Lamar Jackson is being labeled as a regular season star who comes up short in the playoffs, but C-Mac doesn’t believe that is completely fair given how the Ravens played, and coached, around him during Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs.
“I don’t think he was as bad as people are saying,” C-Mac said. “He did not play his best game, no doubt, and he didn’t look like he did in the second half against Houston, but they were sloppy in this game. For all the talk we have about Harbaugh, and what a great coach John Harbaugh is - and he is - this team was sloppy.”
Jackson wasn’t nearly his MVP self, and his interception in the end zone to all but seal Baltimore’s fate was thrown into triple coverage. But there were plenty of areas where his team could have helped his cause, but didn’t.
“You got the penalties…I thought he was under pressure a lot,” C-Mac said. “He did not play particularly well, and I understand what is going to come from this…’He doesn’t play well in the postseason, it’s enough of a sample size,’ it’s going to be a major talking point…I don’t just look at him and go, ‘That’s the reason they lost, he’s never gonna win.’”
