·Olivia Rodrigo is putting together what feels like a new Lilith Fair for a whole new generation.
·Her new Daisy Chain Fields Festival is an all-women event built around artists who are huge right now, artists who helped shape alternative music, and a few names nobody expected to see on the same flyer.
·Olivia headlines the August 29 festival at Great Park in Irvine, California. Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, KATSEYE, Bikini Kill, Garbage, The Breeders, Santigold, Rachel Chinouriri, Die Spitz, Eli, Not For Radio, and Quiet Light are also playing across two stages.
·Then there are the special guests. Stevie Nicks, Karen O, and Sarah McLachlan will all be part of it.
·Sarah started Lilith Fair in the 1990s, so having her attached to Olivia’s festival makes the comparison feel intentional.
·Olivia says this has been a dream of hers for years. She describes the vibe as part “hippie girl,” part riot grrrl punk, which makes sense when you look at the mix of pop stars, rock icons, punk bands, and indie favorites.
·This is also a nonprofit festival. The artists agreed not to take profits, and 100 percent of net proceeds will support groups serving women and girls, including Planned Parenthood, Baby2Baby, the Center for Reproductive Rights, Black Mamas Matter Alliance, and the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health.
·Presale starts Wednesday at 10 a.m. Pacific.
