·Tortorella brings 23 seasons of NHL head coaching experience, most recently with the Philadelphia Flyers from 2022 to 2025
·He previously coached the Columbus Blue Jackets, winning the Jack Adams Award in 2017 and leading the franchise to its first second round playoff appearance in 2019
·Tortorella also coached the Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers, and won a Stanley Cup with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004
·Cassidy took over Vegas in 2022 and led the team to its first Stanley Cup title in 2023
·The move comes during a late season slump. Vegas has lost six of its last seven games, including a 5 to 4 shootout loss Saturday night to the Washington Capitals after falling behind 3 to 0
