·Madonna opened with “Music” as Brazilian soccer legends Ronaldo and Ronaldinho joined her entrance in a custom jeep. The performance featured bright colors, dancers and roller skates.
·Gustavo Dudamel turned the field into a concert hall with an orchestral version of “Seven Nation Army.” Musicians from the New York Philharmonic and Venezuela’s Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra joined him, along with several Muppets.
·BTS performed “Dynamite” in coordinated red and black outfits. Fans quickly noticed the group changed several lyrics to give the song a soccer theme.
·Justin Bieber brought the energy down with an acoustic performance of “Everything Hallelujah.” Jason Sudeikis introduced him while appearing as Ted Lasso.
·Shakira and Burna Boy performed the official World Cup anthem, “Dai Dai,” with a large group of dancers representing the tournament’s international spirit.
·Chris Martin, the PS22 Chorus, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and many of the performers returned for the finale. The field formed a giant “LOVE” display before fireworks filled the sky.
·The pregame show also included Jennifer Hudson singing the national anthem, Post Malone performing a three-song set and Tom Cruise addressing the crowd.
