It was never going to happen!
“It’s because I was friends with him before the movie,” Tisdale told the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast about her former “High School Musical” co-star Efron. “He was way younger than me. He was like a brother, too.”
While Tisdale admits to not looking at Efron in a romantic way, a certain 2007 Rolling Stone cover where he appeared in a white tee showing a muscular physique did at least somewhat grab her attention.
“The one time where I was like, ‘Oh, Ok. S**t, he looks hot,’ was the Rolling Stone cover,” she said. “I was like, ‘Now I understand.’ I think I just knew him too well and had been best friends with him for so long that it’s like your brother that you’re hanging out with.”
While Tisdale and Efron never dated during the filming of the Disney “High School Musical” movies, Efron and co-star Vanessa Hudgens were an item.
Tisdale also revealed she almost didn’t even get to audition for her eventual role of Sharpay Evans in “High School Musical.”
“They were like, ‘Actually, no , we have someone in mind already,’” she recalled.
It was her then current role on Disney show “The Suite Life of Zack & Cody” she was brought in as a “courtesy.”
She of course got the gig!
