Kate Middleton unintentionally said a surprising personal nickname for Prince Charles at her latest public appearance.
Both the Duchess of Cambridge and her father-in-law joined Queen Elizabeth last week for the G-7 summit, according to People.
In one video from the event, Prince Charles can be seen talking to Middleton and her husband and Charles' son, Prince William. Middleton then walks up to him with a smile and says, “Hello Grandpa!” rather than addressing him by his official title.
The 39-year-old may also have called her father-in-law “Papa,” the name his sons Prince William and Prince Harry use for him, according to People.
During that same trip, Middleton wore a vintage and sentimental accessory that honored her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. She also spent her time feeding rabbits and spending her time with school children alongside First Lady Dr. Jill Biden. The royal also joined Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Camilla, and Prince William at the G-7 summit.
Middleton changed from a raspberry pink dress into an elegant white outfit that included the pearl and diamond bracelet that once belonged to Princess Diana.
Princess Diana has worn this piece of jewelry in public appearances, including her pearl “Elvis” dress that she debuted during a 1989 visit to Hong Kong.
This isn’t the first time that Middleton honored her mother-in-law.
In May, she stunned in an all-blue outfit that channeled the style of Princess Diana. The Duchess of Cambridge wore a Tailored Double Breasted Blazer from Zara. The royal also was seen with a pleated skirt while pairing the outfit with tan suede heels and a clutch.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Middleton wore a floral print face mask that went well with her fabulous outfit.
Fans sensed a bit of nostalgia when they realized Middleton’s all-blue outfit looked strikingly similar to Princess Diana’s look when she wore it back in 1992. However, a significant difference was Diana wore matching pumps with her outfit. The late royal also finished the look with gold round-shaped earrings.
