Following allegations leveled against DJ and producer Diplo by a woman who says he distributed revenge porn and intentionally gave her an STD, the artist, real name Thomas Wesley Pentz, has spoken out regarding the very serious situation.
In a post on Instagram uploaded on Wednesday (October 6), Diplo gave his side of the story which he says is "about how a stalker scammed her way into my life and tried to extort me for millions and then sued me when she didn’t get what she wanted."
Diplo explains to his followers, "It was my goal to never address a stalker," adding, the woman in question, "was an obsessed fan of mine, and after I relinquished all contact with her, it appears that her only purpose in life has been to disrupt my work, my business, harass me and my close friends and attack me and threaten my family."
He says his accuser, "was not a minor when I had conversations or sexual intercourse with her," and provided images of messages between them, as well as racist messages sent to the mother of Diplo's third son. You can read his full explanation above.
The artist has also stated that a private detective hired to investigate the woman, whom he refers to in his post as "SA," found that she had previously been issued a restraining order in Florida based on past dangerous behavior.

"This is so frustrating and embarrassing," Diplo concludes. "I am not this person and I won't be extorted by anyone no matter how stinging the press can be. Even over the past two years I've never been bothered by these rumors, if anything it has made me stronger and smarter, all of my friends and partners have never questioned me and that was what has been important to me. The people in my life know me for who I really am. I will continue to do everything I can to end this in the most respectful way but I will not give in to lies and harassment."
