Austin Resource Recovery has launched the final expansion of their curbside composting service for all their customers. It will include around 55,000 more households. It's a fantastic 1Thing to do that will help Austin reach it's Zero Waste Goal for 2040!

The program collects food scraps, yard trimmings, food-soiled paper and natural fibers, and converts them into nutrient-rich compost. Because materials are processed in a commercial composting facility, extremely high temperatures are reached, allowing Austinites to compost items like meat, dairy, seafood and bones that typically cannot be composted in a backyard.
