First I blame Holly for posting this on Facebook, and turning me on to this Booze Bake Cake. The flavor combos seem like they would make a cake that would give a delicious boozy bite experience. If you're not into Booze Bakes, a coffee cream substitution can happen too. Big Win all around! Here's how one Booze Bake turns Bailey's Irish Cream into what sounds like a Boozy Dream Cake Come True. Only time will tell .. Valentine's Day & St. Patrick's Day are coming. We have reasons to bake it, if we needed one... and we don't.
Bailey's Irish Cream Chocolate Cake with Kahlua Buttercream
Ingredients:Makes: 12 slices
Cake
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 1/4 cups Baileys Irish Cream or Yummy switches:Bailey's Irish Cream varieties, Bailey's Red Velvet & A Chocolate Cherry (V-Day) non-alcoholic version Bailey's Irish Cream Coffee Creamers (or a 1/2 & 1/2 mixture w/ Bailey's a bit boozy)
Kahlua Buttercream Frosting
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 tablespoons kahlua
