Rudy Roo was excited to receive the list from Rover.com. It's their 3rd Annual list of America's favorite doggies. Would it surprise you that the Golden or the Lab Retrievers were not #1 this year? Here are a few stats taken from a survey of 1,000 pet parents proving the pet pandemic phenomenon is real.
The survey says...
- 67% welcomed a furbaby into their family in the past year.
- 76% said the breed of their furbaby was important with their biggest consideration being 'family friendly'.
- 60% wanted a breed that would snuggle.
-54% wanted a breed that would get along with other furbabies
- 51% wanted a breed that is highly intelligent.
My Rudy Roo has a good portion of all those qualities, mixed with a healthy helping of stubbornness. Could be why the Shih Tzu came in at #12 this year. Rudy feels he's a Top 10 contender.
