ATX Free Fridge Project was started by Kyandra Noble with the idea of solving two problems. Food insecurity and food waste. After seeing the projects run successfully in other cities, she wanted to do it in Austin. Get a neighborhood fridge that stays stocked and is used by the people in the community. An added bonus is the fridge turns into a work of art by a local artist. It's a community win.

The fridges with flair can be found outside Nixta Taqueria on 12th and Cedar, and outside Unit C Studio & Gallery on 2nd Steet. It stays stocked by people who have extra food they may not want, and it's available for others who need a bit of extra food.
