Sean Mack's TX Adventures: The Frida Kahlo Oasis
A realm of beauty...just down the road!
Looking for a weekend getaway? How about a trip to Mexico...that happens to be just down the road from Austin? That's what you'll get when you experience the Frida Kahlo Oasis at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The new exhibit runs until November and features a recreation of the famous artist's blue home, Casa Azul. You'll feel like you're actually in Mexico-the garden has displays of some of the plants and succulents you'd find at Frida's house as well as photographs and a replica easel and desk. If you're a fan of Frida, you can't miss it!

So many amazing plants!

You'll find a display of plants and succulents that you'd find at Frida's home.
The garden grounds have new features as well!

There are statues that honor some of the animals Frida would feature in her artwork(here's a deer, for example).
Fridas!

We loved this display of various Frida statues in different colorful clothing.
Time to monkey around...

Frida had two pet spider monkeys and they were featured in her artwork.
Hello, parrot!

Another animal featured in Frida's artwork was a parrot like this one.
The oasis entrance.

So many great little highlights on this exhibit!
The garden has something for everyone!

There's a lot to see-and fun for the whole family.
Get lost in the beauty!

It's a short drive from Austin!
