Researchers in New Zealand have discovered 3 new glow in the dark shark species. In January 2020, the kitefin shark, the blackbelly lanternshark and the southern lanternshark were discovered of the Chatham rise, an oceanic area off the east coast of New Zealand. The kitefin shark is the largest-known luminous underwater creature. It's found 984 feet below sea level, and eats smaller sharks, ground fish and crustaceans.
