Over the HOT weekend, I watched a couple of movies with honey Ted that had me grabbing for the tissues. I came close to ugly crying. Even honey Ted got teary eyed.
These movies are older, and we are not sure how we missed seeing them when they came out. Although we are glad we watched them on the same day. It's better to get the cry out all at once. Have your favorite movie snacks ready with a box of tissues! Because they aren't all sad, they are emotional rollercoasters of movie goodness. Let the waterworks come pouring out.
The first movie was on the Hallmark channel. I have never cried so much during a Hallmark movie. Betty White & Jennifer Love Hewitt together back in 2011 for The Lost Valentine. The trailer gives a quickie about it. It really is one you must watch. Betty does such a stellar job. I'm getting a little teary eyed just thinking about the ending. Filled with lots of Happy and Safe moments! Tissue Alert 1!
Tissue Alert 2! honey Ted found this on Netflix thinking it was newer. I discovered after watching, it came out in 2014. So not new, but new to us. It wasn't easy eating pizza and ice cream while laughing, getting mad and crying.
"You're Not You' with Hilary Swank, Emmy Rossum & Josh Dahmel with several other celebs you will recognize. Hilary is Kate, an independent woman who's an accomplished designer, aspiring home chef and incredible pianist. She's married to Evan (Josh), who is a successful lawyer. In their mid '30s taking on the world with so much to enjoy and live for together. Until a moment brings change to their lives forever.
An ALS freight train hits Kate at the age of 35, smashing both their worlds. By 37 Kate is in need of a caretaker, but hates to be treated like a patient. That's when Beck (Emmy) steps into Kate's life, and the bond that forms between these two women is amazing. One who's life is fading, while the other is trying to get her's started. The meeting and friendship formed between Kate and Beck is awe inspiring and painfully loving to the core. You'll laugh, cry, laugh, get mad and laugh and cry, cry, cry again, and again.
I was spent after watching 'You're Not You'. Hilary's portrayal of someone battling ALS was truly heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time. Emmy helped create all of the feelings and more with Beck's character growth with Kate during the entire movie. I still get teary eyed watching the trailer after seeing the movie. If you haven't seen 'You're Not You', I highly recommend watching with a box of tissues nearby.
