You're finally going on vacation! You went through your check list of having everything and then some. You make sure everything is off / unplugged, even if you didn't use it, before you walk out the front door and lock it. Vacation has officially started.
An hour or so traveling to your destination, your honey asks you. "Was the stove off?" You say "Yes, we didn't even use the stove. (or did we?)" No you're pretty sure it's off. You think?
If you had taken a quick photo of the stove showing it's off before you left, then any doubts whether or not you used it goes away. That's a pretty clever hack. Don't have to worry about calling a neighbor / friend / family to check, or can't get a hold of anyone. Don't have to turn around, and go back to check for peace of mind.

This happens more often than most care to admit. Family trip, my dad couldn't remember if he turned the coffee pot off. My mom couldn't get a hold of anyone to check. We drove back an hour and a half to find it off, and started the much longer journey again.

Ever think? "Did I lock the back patio door? Or did I put the patio cushions away, just in case?" A quick look in your 'vacation ready' photo album on your phone will take those worries away.

You'd probably have your curling / straight iron with you on vacation, but maybe you're taking a day trip. Used it, and have it out to cool. "Did I unplug the iron?", pops in your head when you're halfway to your destination. Rather than turning around to go back and check ... You take out your phone, and look at the photo you took of the unplugged iron. Yes, you did unplug it.
I will be giving this life hack a try our next trip. Vacations can have unexpected stresses and dramas pop up. No need to add to it with the thoughts, 'Did I really turn it off / unplug it?' Seems like a clever way to put your mind at ease.
Take a photo of your stove, or whatever you tend to question yourself about turning off, unplugging, locking or shutting. Snap that shot of the closed door garage. Might seem silly at the time, but it won't when your honey asks "Did we shut the garage door?" during a silent part of the vacay cruise. You can look at your phone, and show it to your honey with a smile and say, "Yes, We did!"
